= Backstory:

Luca Devereaux was a young boy; he was rich and lived in a mansion. His real father disappeared during an assault by people who wanted a ransom. The police prestigiously searched for him but yet he could not be found. One day, Luca went out to play by an abandoned airport. However, when he entered it, several of the thieves lied there, tainted by dry blood. His father was in the middle, on his body were scars, traces of torture, and a bullet shot through his heart. Luca screamed and fell to the ground, crying and gasping for air.
“Dad!!!!...”
A police happened to pass by on a car. He heard Luca’s screams and called the rest of the police.
The news quickly spread everywhere. His mother, who was also still having Noel during the time, was also traumatized due to this fact. It was reported everywhere, newspapers, television, and radio. Each one of them sickened Luca. He was soulless. His father had a strong bond with him. And all that broke because of one amateurish plan to order a ransom.
Then 3 years later, his mother thought of marrying a new husband, so that Luca and Noel would have a role model. She hesitated and decided to keep this to herself. One day, she announced she would be married to a worthy man and yet she looked full of sorrow. The day came and she married the governor.
Luca and Noel were shocked about this; they didn’t hear about this and never thought this would happen, they believed that their mother would be too weak to lose her bond with her deceased husband. Their stepfather hated them, he was disgusted by them; what he was after was the family wealth. He sullied the mansion with his very presence, a heavy cigar smoke smell everywhere he walked, his lust of money, everything.
One night, Luca and Noel came out of their room to find out why there was a light coming from the family safe. It was his stepfather, sitting there and counting the gold. He muttered these dreadful words very clearly, “Haha, all this fortune is mine! I didn’t even have to wait for the ransom...! ” Luca gasped, he was heard! He quickly grabbed Noel’s hand and ran away. That morning at the dining room, his stepdad coldly glanced at the two siblings. That evening they decided to run away, but was caught even before they started by a maid. She reported it to the stepfather and he smirked.
Luca grabbed the family heirloom; a silver dagger forged by a deceased master, and hid it in his pocket. The next morning, they woke up in a car. They heard whispers but he could only hear a couple of words, “we ...abandon....children” they were thrown out of the car.
Luca who was being abandoned along with his little sister Noel, was shocked. The last thing they saw was their mother’s face, crying, while being dragged away by his stepfather. He could only remember his mother’s face and his stepfather’s last words. The mutter he made out from his stepdad’s whisper was, “We don’t need such scum on this Earth!” Those words echoed through his mind over and over again. However, poor little Noel was too young to remember or understand this.
They ran and escaped from many people, whether they were the kind to enslave children or the kind to kidnap them for hostages. Luca protected Noel with his life. Stressed out, Luca fainted when walking with his sister in the city. Before he closed his eyes and blacked out, he could hear Noel crying and yelling for help. As he awoke, he was on a bed at an orphanage. Noel, who was waiting for him to wake up, slept beside him. Then a woman came up to them, she was the orphanage owner.
She introduced herself as Lilia. They stayed there for a couple of months and the three were just like a family. Lilia then decided to adopt both Luca and Noel as her own. They spent happy and peaceful days until that day... the day when terrorists came to the orphanage. They ran away but the terrorist aimed and shot his gun. Lilia protected them and fell into an eternal slumber. They hid under the building for days. The terrorists finally left and they buried Lilia’s body near an oak tree and left with tears. It started to rain heavily.
However, all the misfortune has not finished. They walked and a driver hit them as they were crossing an intersection. Luca woke up and his eye sight was blurry. A doctor entered the room and said he was fine if he rested for a couple of days. He then asked the doctor for Noel’s condition. The room grew silent but the doctor finally spoke and said that she was in a coma. He rushed outside and looked for Noel. He found her in the room next to his own.
“You’re kidding right... This is all a dream...”
She was lying on the white hospital bed. He grasped her hand and said “Wake up, please! You’re all that I have left...” She could not wake up at the moment. He didn’t let her go, he outburst in tears and he vowed to protect her.
A letter was sent to him the day after. Shockingly, he had learned that the Devereaux Company became bankrupt and his mother was said to have committed suicide. The step dad had run away with all the fortune and burned the mansion down.
He wanted revenge, revenge on his stepdad.
